Super Bowl LII, played in Bank Stadium, Minneapolis, was the final game of the 2017 National Football League Season.

The game, taking place on February 4th of this year, was played between the Philadelphia Eagles and the New England Patriots.

For Philadelphia, the win they achieved over the Patriots was the first time in over 60 years that the Eagles won a Super Bowl title- their first being after the Eagles won the pre-Super Bowl NFL championship of 1960.

According to the CBS Sports, The Philadelphia Eagles had never won the Super Bowl in 51 seasons, and the Patriots were 4-and-a-half point favorites to beat the Eagles on Sunday.

If they’d won, they would have walked away with the franchise’s sixth Super Bowl championship, tieing with the current championship record holders, the Pittsburgh Steelers.

By the end of the game, the Philadelphia Eagles upset the New England Patriots 41-33, grabbing the first Super Bowl crown in the team’s history.

Pink sang the “Star Spangled Banner” before the game began, and fans were entertained by Justin Timberlake during the annual halftime show that included some of his hottest hits -- including a tribute to Prince.

According to the National Football League, “Super Bowl LII will be a night that remains special in Philly for as long as football is played, in large part because of coach Doug Pederson’s willingness to go for it and his players’ ability to execute his aggressive vision.”

“That was the talk all week long,” offensive coordinator Frank Reich said during an interview with reporters. “He kept telling the staff, he kept telling the team all week, we are going all out for 60 minutes -- that was the theme.”

MVP Nick Foles completed 28 of 43 passes for 373 yards, three touchdowns and one interception, according to the Washington Post.

The Eagles win over the Patriots averaged 103.4 million viewers on NBC, the network announced.

It was the fewest number of viewers in nine years when 97.3 million watched the game in 2009, according to Deadline.

Last year’s Super Bowl averaged 111.3 million viewers.

Justin Timberlake’s halftime performance averaged 106.6 million viewers.

Despite the decrease in viewers this year, Eagles fans, still basking in the euphoria of the team’s first-ever Super Bowl win, took to the streets in celebration, removing said streets of a few of their light posts in the process.

At least, one car — a Prius — was overturned as well, according to USA Today.

Celebrating in their own way, on Thursday, February 8th, fans set out once more to experience the championship parade.

According to CNN, “The 4.8-mile parade started at 11 a.m. ET, but fans in full Eagles regalia began gathering as the sun came up.

The parade started at Broad Street and Pattison Avenue, then headed up Broad to City Hall before moving its way to the Philadelphia Museum of Art, home of the famous “Rocky” staircase.”

“Is this what heaven’s like?” General Manager Howie Roseman said, according to CNN.

“I’ve never seen so many people in one spot, celebrating one thing,” Foles said in amazement.

Philadelphia’s win in the Super Bowl is one that will be remembered by fans for years to come.
